History

Worship Ministries is a Christian fellowship of believers that was formed in October 1998.   From July of 1999 until July 2000, we met in Eastside High School each Sunday. Since July of 2001 we have been in our new facility Christ Cornerstone Church at 1020 Oak Hill Rd. in Covington Ga.

This site is between Highway 81 and Highway 212 on Oak Hill Road near the intersection of Oak Hill and Smith Store Rd. Our current facility is Phase 1 of our plans for this site. Construction is currently underway for Phase 2, our Family Life Center. We are excited about the new facility and the opportunity it presents for our ministry to grow and expand our outreach of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We are especially excited about the opportunity to reach out to the surrounding area.   Newton County - GA has grown in the western corridor along the Rockdale and Henry county lines.   With this growth comes the challenge of meeting community needs in all forms.   We feel that the addition of Christ Cornerstone Church to the community will serve this area well in providing a place of worship.

Our current congregation consists of approximately 125 members from Newton, Rockdale, Gwinnett, Cobb Spalding, Dekalb, Henry and Jasper counties. A part of our core foundation consist of a “family” of friends who have worshiped and worked together in Christian Ministry over the past 50 plus years. Once again now we are united to expand our ministry to reach out to this area and represent Jesus Christ.

Our foundation is strong, we base all of our doctrines on the teachings of the Apostles and prophets with Jesus Christ being the cornerstone of our faith.

Our services consist of spirit led worship, bible based teaching and preaching, prayer for healing both spiritual and physical. We are blessed with an excellent Music and Sunday school program. As we move forward, Our growth plans include establishing a more comprehensive service schedule to offer additional worship times and extending our ministries in areas of Christian development.

Today's world presents each one of us with many challenges. Our experience indicates that these challenges are best met through a spirit led life. Our relationship with Jesus Christ is a refuge in which we find peace, love, joy and to meet all our needs through him. Our prayer is that; Our Worship services create an atmosphere where you can establish and grow in a relationship with Jesus Christ, and that Our Ministry demonstrates the love of Christ through his delivering power for your body, soul and spirit.
